Community Design Assistance Center

The Community Design Assistance Center assists communities, neighborhood groups, and non-profit organizations in improving the natural and built environments through design, planning, policy, and research. Through the integration of the learning and working environments, the Center will execute projects that link instruction and research and share its knowledge base with the general public.

Institute for Community Health

The Institute provides technical assistance and information to communities and organizations to help them better respond to the health needs of their citizens, and to foster research on community health issues.

Metropolitan Institute at Virginia Tech

Conducts basic and applied research on national and international regional development, focusing on key forces shaping metropolitan growth such as demographics, environment, technology, design, transportation, and governance.

Virginia Tech Institute for Policy and Governance

A major research and outreach body for state and local government in the Commonwealth of Virginia and nonprofit/civil society organizations across the globe. Seeks to improve the response of government, businesses, and nonprofit institutions to various challenges such as governance, healthcare, social services, regional infrastructure and community development.
