Nature Conservancy - Compatible Economic Development:

One of the first and best tools for community readiness is CCED's publication, Pathways: Building a Local Initiative for Compatible Economic Development. "The Community's Vision" document includes information on: drafting a vision statement, discussing and ratifying the vision at a community workshop, and considering indicators or benchmarks for measuring long term success.
