PUA: Public & Non-Profit Management Concentration

  • The Public & Non-Profit Management concentration gives Public & Urban Affairs students the opportunity to focus on organization and administration theories and skills required in management of public agencies and non-profit organizations.
  • Upon completion of the Public & Non-Profit Management (PNPM) concentration in Public & Urban Affairs, students are prepared for entry level positions in public agencies at all levels of government and nonprofit organizations and for graduate study in public administration, planning, and business administration.
  • PUA students concentrating in Public and Non-Profit Management receive a strong foundation through three required concentration courses in organizational theory and administration and two additional electives in public management skills, human resources and/or organizational behavior.
  • Qualified students are encouraged to participate in SPIA's Washington Semester, a ten-week, twelve credit hour summer program in the nation's capital which blends academic seminars with internships and site visits into a unique learning experience.
