The Environmental Affairs concentration gives Public & Urban Affairs students the opportunity to focus on environmental issues, planning, and policy.
Upon completion of the Environmental Affairs (ENVA) concentration, students are prepared for entry level positions in public, non-profit and private firms and organizations dealing with environmental issues, and for graduate study in environmental planning and policy and related fields.
This is a SPIA concentration also available to students in Political Science, Geography, and International Studies.
Students pursuing this concentration should also consider the minor in Environmental Policy and Planning.
PUA students concentrating in Environmental Affairs receive a strong academic foundation through an environmental course in the PUA core, two required concentration courses in resources and planning/policy and three additional courses.
Qualified students are encouraged to participate in SPIA's Washington Semester and/or the Environmental Intensive which blend academic study with internships into a unique learning experience.
