Our Mission
To educate future planners and policy analysts and to apply faculty expertise in related research and outreach.
To provide interdisciplinary teaching and learning, research and scholarship, and outreach and service in planning, public policy, and public and non-profit management.
Our Success
Since 1937 the Urban Affairs and Planning program has educated planners and policy analysts and to apply expertise at a range of scales from neighborhoods to regions to the globe. Success in doing this means that students, alumni, faculty, staff and associates engage collaboratively across multiple disciplines. Our graduates can be found around the world, leaders in managing growth and change. Our program has expanded across time and space – a growing community of Virginia Tech graduates are making a difference.
